Happy St. Patty's Day....already!!

I am already making St. Patty's Day cards!!! I took this picture last spring/summer. The rainbow ended not too far from our backdoor. I grabbed the camera and took this picture. I happened to think of it yesterday and made some cards with it. I really like the result. Materials: The Paper Studio: Holiday Sentiments; grosgrain ribbon from Walmart; pp from JoAnne's; green cardstock from JoAnne's; green stickles.

My First House Mouse Image

I have been threatening to buy some House Mouse stamps, and I finally did. This is my first card with one of them. I am new to coloring in my images, so I do need more practice. Overall, I am pleased with the result. House Mouse image: Spring Blossoms; SU markers; ribbon from JoAnne's; buttons from mom. I did this card for this week's challenge at Creative Keepsakes on the Paper Crafts Message Board. We have challenges like this every week. The challenge this week was to make a card with baby blue, pink, red, and a touch of green.

Altered Tins

I have been busy making altered tins!!! They are tins by Provo Craft ordered online. The flowered one has PP by Memory Makers, Primas, buttons, ribbon, and the ribbon charm is by Memory Makers. The purple one has PP by Hot Off The Press, ribbon charm from JoAnne's, ribbon, bling, locket charm from JoAnne's, flowers by Heidi Grace, and flower charm by Making Memories. They were easy to do. The only suggestion I have is for you to use the thicker, heavier pp....the thin, light-weight stuff seems to wrinkle easier. You apply Modge Podge to the tin first then the paper, then more MP. You can get the directions at http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/altered_lunch_tin/

Hello!!

It's been a few days.........busy, busy, busy. I completed my 3rd CardKeeper and I am now starting on altering my tins. I will post a pic when the first is completed.

I am really liking this altering phase I am going thru. Lots of fun!!! Hopefully I can inspire some of you to go outside your comfort zone and try something new.

I have alot of techniques that I want to try this year, so I'd better get a move on.

I just can't stop!!

Oh how I love to make these!!! This one went together lots easier than the first. The first wasn't hard, but you know how it goes.......the more you make, the easier it gets. The funny thing with this one was, I originally bought this patterned paper to use the other side of it. When I got home and really looked at it, I realized there was some sort of printing defect on that side. On all of the sheets!!! I actually like this side better. I guess what they say is true, everything happens for a reason. I can still use the scraps of the other side for cards, it's just that the defect was smack dab in the middle and I couldn't avoid it showing up on the CardKeeper. Here is the link to the CardKeepers site. http://www.cardkeepers.com/

CardKeeper

This is my first attempt at making an A2 Card Keeper Album. The kit is from http://www.cardkeepers.com/. I used yellow patterned paper, ribbon, a ribbon charm from Memory Makers, and 3-D stickers from Jolee's. It took a little over an hour to make. The first one is a little scary, but I did learn a few things. I am happy with the result and plan to make more. This one is for my mom (the best in the world I might add). She loves yellow, so that's where I got my inspiration. Please check out the cardkeepers website, it is a great project and a wonderful way to keep your special cards (or whatever) safe and sound.

Funny Stuff!!

I was sent this email last year at this time and just had to share it. It is way too funny!! Kinda long, but worth the read. I don't know a woman that can't relate to this!!!

If you read this without laughing out loud, there is something wrong with you. This is dedicated to everyone who ever attempted to get into a regular workout routine.

Dear Diary,

For my birthday this year, my daughter (the dear) purchased a week of personal training at the local health club for me.
Although I am still in great shape since being a high school football cheerleader 43 years ago, I decided it would be a good idea to go ahead and give it a try.
I called the club and made my reservations with a personal trainer named Belinda, who identified herself as a 26 year old aerobics instructor and model for athletic clothing and swimwear.
My daughter seemed pleased with my enthusiasm to get started! The club encouraged me to keep a diary to chart my progress.

MONDAY:
Started my day at 6 am. Tough to get out of bed, but found it was well worth it when I arrived at the health club to find Belinda waiting for me. She is something of a Greek Goddess- with blonde hair, dancing eyes and a dazzling white smile. Woo-Hoo!!! Belinda gave me a tour and showed me the machines. I enjoyed watching the skillful way in which she conducted her aerobics class after my workout today. Very inspiring!

TUESDAY:
I drank a whole pot of coffee, but I finally made it out the door.
Belinda made me lie on my back and push a heavy iron bar into the air, then she put weights on it!! My legs were a little wobbly on the treadmill, but I made the full mile. Belinda’s rewarding smile made it all worthwhile. I feel GREAT!!!! It’s a whole new life for me.

WEDNESDAY:
The only way I can brush my teeth is by laying the toothbrush on the counter and moving my mouth back and forth over it. I believe I have a hernia in both pectorals. Driving was OK as long as I didn’t try to steer or stop. I parked on top of a GEO in the club parking lot.
Belinda was impatient with me, insisting that my screams bothered other club members. Her voice is a little too perky for early in the morning and when she scolds, she gets this nasally whine that is VERY annoying. My chest hurt when I got on the treadmill, so Belinda put me on the stair monster. Why the Hell would anyone invent a machine to simulate an activity rendered obsolete by elevators?? Belinda told me it would help me get in shape and enjoy life. She said some other shit too.

THURSDAY:
Belinda was waiting for me with her vampire-like teeth exposed as her thin, cruel lips were pulled back in a full snarl. I couldn’t help being a half an hour late; it took me that long to tie my shoes.
Belinda took me to work out with dumbells. When she was not looking, I ran and hid in the restroom. She sent another skinny bitch to find me.
Then, as punishment, she put me on the rowing machine---which I sank.

FRIDAY:
I hate that bitch more than any human being has ever hated any other human being in the history of the world. Stupid, skinny, anemic, anorexic little cheerleader. If there was a part of my body I could move without unbearable pain, I would beat her with it.
Belinda wanted me to work on my triceps. I don’t have any triceps!! And if you don’t want dents in the floor, don’t hand me the damned barbells or anything that weighs more than a sandwich. The treadmill flung me off and I landed on a health and nutrition teacher.
Why couldn’t it have been someone softer, like the drama coach or the choir director??

SATURDAY:
Belinda left a message n my answering machine in her grating, shrilly voice wondering why I did not show up today. Just hearing her made me want to smash the machine with my planner. However, I lacked the strength to even use the TV remote and ended up catching eleven straight hours of the Weather Channel.

SUNDAY:
I’m having the Church van pick me up for services today so I can go and thank GOD that this week is over. I will also pray that next year my daughter (the little sh*t) will choose a gift for me that is fun--like a root canal or hysterectomy. I still say if God had intended me to bend over, he would have sprinkled the floor with diamonds!!!

EVERY DAY IS A GIFT….HAVE FUN!!

TGIF

Good Morning Everyone!!! Well, I survived the creation of my blog and even have received a few comments! Thanks!!! For those of you who are having trouble leaving comments, I think I fixed the problem. Also, if you are not a member, I think you need to choose Anonymous from the drop down menu under the comment box. Try that and we will see how it works. If it doesn't, I'll get back to the drawing board.

For those of you who have asked, YES I have read all of the Stephanie Plum books. Including the "between the numbers" books. I love them!!! I can't wait for the next one to come out. She has the title, but I can't think of it at this time. I'll try and figure out a link to her website tonight, and put it on my blog. http://www.evanovich.com/

Have a great day all!!
